2014 SCUBAPRO Ambassador Scholarship Honoring Dr.Sylvia Earle

Sylvia-Earle_01 Win $5,000 in gear, and a PADI certification to kickstart your underwater adventure.
Sponsored by SCUBAPRO, PADI and Beneath the Sea

“Every diver should be an ambassador for the ocean. Every diver should tell people that fish have a personality, every diver should be out front doing what he can or she can to take care of the ocean. To be a voice for the ocean, because divers see what others don’t, and we need to share the view or at least share our voice.” – Dr. Sylvia Earle

The Deep Elite Ambassador Scholarship will enable one deserving candidate to do just that – could it be you?

Tell us why you love the ocean, tell us how Dr. Earle’s work has inspired you, or simply tell us why you want to win! Your entry should convey enthusiasm for diving, ocean exploration and/or conservation, and take the form of a photo/essay combination, which must be solely and completely your own work.

Photos must be submitted via Instagram, using #scubaprocontest2014. Accompanying essays must be between 500 and 2000 characters. Submit your entry between 12:00am PST February 10, 2014 and 12:00 am PST on March 10, 2014. If your entry is in the top 10, your Facebook friends will be able to vote on your entry to help you win!

If your entry is chosen as winner, you will be notified via email and/or telephone and once confirmed, you will receive a full kit of SCUBAPRO dive equipment, valued at up to $5000, and a certification from PADI, valued at $400. The winner will be publicly announced during the Beneath the Sea show on March 28th, 2014.Sylvia-Earle_02
