A bodyboarder has been bitten by a shark in Australia. Gonzalo Mompo Fernandez was boarding off Killalea State Park in an area known as The Farm on March 19 around 6:30 p.m. when he was bitten on his bum and inner thigh. A disturbing video showing fisherman gaff a protected great white shark has been posted on social media. A bull shark bite has been reported near Coral Bay, Western Australia. A woman was snorkeling around 10 a.m. February 26 when she was bitten on the hand by a 5-foot (1.5m) bull shark. She was approximately 66 feet (20m) offshore of Point Maud when she was bitten. The unidentified woman was able to swim back to shore where she received first aid at a nurse’s station before being transported for secondary care, which reportedly included stitches. A bodyboarder was killed in a shark attack at Reunion Island February 21 after the area waters of Saint-Andre were closed at 9:30 a.m. to Indian Ocean goers.   The man, identified as Alexandre Naussac, was bitten on his thigh while boarding with a group in the shallow murky water.  His femoral artery was severed, and he lost a substantial amount of blood.
