A model has been bitten by a shark in the Bahamas. Adventure blogger Mareen was traveling through the islands March 1, when she made a stop at Compass Cay. Two rare megamouth shark findings have been reported in 2017. The two would up the previous know sighting number from 61 to 63. The first specimen was found dead at the Misamis Oriental, a region in the Northern Mindanao of the Philippines.  The shark had washed onto the shoreline of Barangay Baluarte May 1. The nearly 10-foot (3m) long shark was approximately 5-feet (1.5m) wide and weighed in at an estimated 1,322 pounds (600kg). A fisherman was bitten by a shark March 11 in the LLocos Region of the Philippines Benan Reintegrado was spearfishing with his father north of Manla off the Barangay Villamar in the South China Sea. Aquarium diver bitten by a shark


An aquarium diver was bitten by a shark May 15. The volunteer diver was doing maintenance at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium around 9:30 a.m. when he was bitten on the finger by a sandbar shark. He was taken to the Tacoma General Hospital in unknown condition.
