A 50-year-old Venezuelan fisherman remains in the hospital after being seriously injured by a shark off the coast of Trinidad on Friday. The first fatal attack of 2014 took place today off Yorke peninsula, west of the South Australia state capital of Adelaide. Sam Kellett was killed by a shark while practicing for a spearfishing tournament. Witnesses reported seeing Mr. Kellett thrashing about in the water after a suspected great white shark approached. A sailor has been bitten by a shark in the East China Sea on Saturday. The 26-tonne Taiwanese fishing boat “Cheng Tsai Li”was found drifting approximately 65km northeast of Japan’s Okinawa prefecture by the island Miyako-jima. Hsieh Ching-chin a spokesman for the coastguard said the unidentified many “was injured, suffering from shark bites”.
