Tourist bitten by a shark in the Red Sea

A tourist has been bitten by a shark off the resort town of Marsa Alam, Egypt. Christine Schachinger, who was visiting from Austria, was snorkeling the morning of August 5 when she was bitten on the right leg. The 20-year-old was taken to a private hospital in Marsa Alam for surgery and was listed in good condition. She was then transferred by private jet to Austria for further treatment. A man has been bitten by a shark in the Red Sea. Amr Abdel Kader (Qader, Qadar) was swimming near the Red Sea city of Ain Sokhna at Marina Beach Valley Dome on Saturday. The popular resort city is around 74 miles (120km) East of Cairo. The 23-year-old student was bitten on the left leg and suffered a severe injury. Swimmer dies from shark bite

A 52-year-old* German man was swimming in the Red Sea March 21, when he was attacked by a shark. The incident took place off Al-Qusair, Egypt where the unidentified man was snorkeling near the bay of Coraya. A suspected mako shark charged the man and severed his foot.
