Surfer bitten by shark in Japan

A surfer was bitten by a shark in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The 42-year-old was around 80 meters (87 yd) off the mouth of Ota River in Iwata City around 9:45 a.m. September 3. As the male office worker was sitting on his board awaiting a wave, the shark grabbed his left foot and ankle. He was able to kick the shark off before paddling into to shore. A surfer appears to have been bitten by a shark in Japan. The unidentified man was surfing off Irino Beach in Kuroshia, of the Kochi Prefecture on July 24, 2016 around 7:05 pm.  He was approximately 16 feet off shore when he started to get on his surfboard board in the 1 to 2 foot deep water. Rare Megamouth Shark Caught -bycatch

A rare megamouth shark has been caught in Japan. The shark was unintentional netted yesterday morning near the Mie Prefecture around three miles off the Owase Port and has reportedly been sold at a fish market. It is estimated the shark weighed around one ton (907kg) and was around sixteen and one half feet long (5M). The shark lives in extremely deep water with one specimen reportedly caught in 660 feet of water. 11ft Great White Shark Showcased in Aquarium

*******Updated 01/08/15******* You’re going to need a bigger aquarium if you want to compete with the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Japan. They just put an 11 1/2ft (3.5M) great white shark on display January 6th. The shark was caught accidentally caught in a fishing net off the village of Yomitan in Okinawa prefecture Monday. Shark bites surfer in Japan

The incident took place on 6/8/14  in the Pacific approximately 155 miles west of Tokyo at the Atsumi peninsula in Aichi.  Tsuyoshi Takahashi a 43 year-old man is an off duty life guard who was surfing in an area know for great waves. Rare Megamouth shark caught in Japan

Rare Megamouth shark was caught in Shizuoka Japan. Weighing 1,500 pounds with a length of 13 feet (3.96 m) this harmless shark was captured at a depth of 2,600 feet. The shark was  given a public autopsy on May 7, 2014 by staff at the Marine Science Museum in Shizuoka City. The Megamouth shark was discovered in 1976 and is so rare, only 58 have been seen by the human eye. They pose no threat to humans as they, like whale sharks only eat plankton.
