Two shark bites were reported April 10 near Melbourne Beach, Florida. The first incident involved Heather Orr of Palm Beach who was bitten on her left hand while swimming offshore near Ocean Avenue. A swimmer was been bitten by a shark in Florida on February 11 at Melbourne Beach. The unidentified man was near Ocean Avenue and Atlantic Street at Ocean Park when the incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. The 22-year-old was bitten on the hand and was treated on scene by the Brevard County Fire Rescue before being taken to the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. A woman has been bitten multiple times by a shark in Florida. The 42-year-old was swimming off Melbourne Beach on Wednesday afternoon, when she was bitten on her thigh and buttocks. She also sustained deep bites to her left hand and wrist area. She was in the water near 2999 S. Highway A1A around 3:30 p.m. The location is around a quarter-mile from a lifeguard tower.
