A shark bite was reported on St. Simons Island, Georgia June 18. Adyson McNeely was in waist-deep water with a group of nine people when her friend stepped on something. “Her best friend said, ‘I think I just stepped on a crab’ and the next thing you know, she [Adyson] got bit,” Adyson’s mother Hannah said. Sharks clean up dead whale off Georgia Florida coast

Video shared by wildlife biologists from Georgia Wildlife shows sharks scavenging a dead whale located off the coast of Georgia and Florida. The one-year old humpback whale was first spotted off the coast of Massachusetts last summer when it became entangled in fishing net. It had also been seen several times over the winter in the south, and observers noted it appeared to be in a sickly state. Twelve year old Ayden Meadows and his mother Raesheel were out surfing on the south end of Tybee island in Savannah Georgia for when they spotted something grey in the water.  Before they new it the shark grabbed hold of Aydens right leg.
