Bethany Hamilton who is known as the Soul Surfer is having a baby.
In 2003 at the age of 13, she lost her arm to a Tiger Shark while surfing in Kauai Hawaii.
At the time of the incident there were multiple turtles in the area and she was lying on her board with her left arm dangling in the water.
The shark severed her arm below the shoulder.
By the time she arrived at the hospital, she had lost 60% of her blood.
Her father had been scheduled for knee surgery and Bethany was able to take his place.
Fisherman caught a 14ft shark about a mile from the attack and found it to have pieces of a surfboard in its mouth.
The shark was later confirmed to be the one that bit Mrs. Hamilton.
Three weeks after the bite, she returned to the waves and has been surfing ever since.
In 2004 she published an autobiography Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board which was later made into a movie.
She credits her faith in God in helping her through the traumatic experience.
We are happy to hear here wonderful news and wish the family our best!!
