10-year-old bitten by fish in NSW

A ten-year-old was bitten by what was thought to be a shark in New South Wales, Australia.

Nyxie Ryan was surfing with her younger brother across from the Lennox Hotel in  Lennox Head March 18.

Around 5 p.m. the ten-year-old was bitten on the left hand. Her younger brother helped her back into shore and she was taken to Lismore Base Hospital by paramedics.

The bite had severed nerves and tendon in her thumb.

It was later determined that a mackerel bit the young girl’s thumb.
