Video: Bull shark versus crocodile

A strange video showing a bull shark biting or bumping into a crocodile has been shared online.

Brodie Moss, a YouTube creator, was flying his drone when he spotted a large crocodile in the Northern Territory, Australia.

The crocodile appeared to have just caught a fish and was swimming with it toward shore and Moss filmed it with his drone.

As he was tracking the crocodile, a small bull shark shot out of the water and swam full speed at the shark. The shark slammed into the crocodile’s tail, possibly attempting to take a bite. Water splashed and the croc took off for the shallows with its jaws clamped around the fish.

The shark hung around the area for a moment and eventually left the crocodile with its spoils.

This is not the first time media has been shared of crocodiles and bull sharks in the Northern Territory.

Brutus, a well-known 18-foot crocodile who rules parts of the Adelaide River, was pictured in August of 2014 carrying a 5- to 6-foot bull shark.

Visitors on the Adelaide River Cruises watched as Brutus took the live shark onto shore and then slid back into the water. He then headed into the mangroves, possibly to protect his catch.

The estimated 80-year-old croc is said to have had previous run-ins with sharks. He is easily identifiable by his missing front leg which, as the story goes, was lost in a fight with a shark.

While crocodiles can seem ferocious, it is possible to safely dive with them. Writer Christian Kemper shared his encounter diving with the giant reptiles in Mexico last year.

Another odd shark encounter occurred in 2015.

John Bailey was walking around the Sebastian Inlet State Park in Florida April 6 when he spotted a bobcat in the water.

He watched as the cat fought with a fish in the waves, then came out of the water with a 3- to 4-foot long shark.

Bailey snapped a photo of the odd event and the cat dropped the shark on shore and headed into the nearby woods. No word on what happened to the shark.
