Massive White Shark Tagged
The 17-foot shark has been nicknamed "Queen of the Ocean".
The 3,541 lb. mature female has multiple bite marks on her gills
which could be from mating activites.
Nukumi, pronounced noo-goo-mee, was named in honor of the legendary wise old grandmother figure of the Native American Mi’kmaq
The group tagged several other sharks during Expedition Nova Scotia
Including a 12’ 9” long subadult 1,602 lb. female white shark named Acadia.
