A 14-year-old Tristan Durham was bitten on his right foot while surfing in the jetty of New Smyrna beach Florida on Wednesday July 9, 2014. His injuries were minor and he was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The waters in New Smyrna are very choppy, which makes it difficult for sharks to see, which in turn leads to more shark related incidents in the area. Click to see all 2014 shark bites mapped out.
