A surfer was bitten by a shark Nov. 28 in New South Wales, Australia. Mike Ruttkowski was off the South Steyne area of Manly Beach around 6:30 p.m. when he was bitten on the foot by a wobbegong shark. He was able to paddle 65 feet (20m) back to the beach and alert authorities. An Australian surfer has been bitten by a wobbegong shark off the coast of New South Wales. The unidentified man was bitten on the foot at Birubi Beach in Port Stephens October 27. He was able to make it to the beach around 9:30 a.m. and was treated on scene by an off-duty nurse. Cooper Hallam was surfing around 32 feet (10m) from Kings Beach in Caloundra, Queensland when he was bitten on the left side of his waist. A twelve-year-old boy was bitten by a wobbegong shark in Australia today. The young man was north of Byron bay at First Sun Beach just after midday when he was bitten on the foot.
